Close-Up Magic

Close-Up Magic is magic performed in close proximity to the audience. The magician usually uses small items like money, cards, sponge balls, and many everyday objects which are easy to bring around for the magic show. The magic performed in such a situation is one of the strongest since it is right under the audience’s nose. In addition, most of the time, the audience are the ones holding the props as the magician performs.

Although it is performed in an intimate setting, a good close-up magician can perform for an individual as well as entertain a group of 20 or even 30 effectively. Examples of such setting include pre-event for weddings, Dinner and Dance as well as tradeshows.

Many names and subsets of close-up magic have sprung up and they are collectively known as close-up magic. You may have seen such magic up close in such settings including pre-event for weddings, Dinner and Dance, as well as tradeshows.
